Since 1967 Beacon has built a solid reputation as an innovative designer and manufacturer of quality production machinery for the aerosol and confectionery industries. The company, owned and operated by Dean and Susie Shields, is located just 40 miles north of Atlanta in Jasper, Georgia.

Equipment for the aerosol industry includes vertical and horizontal tube tapers for automatic, high speed taping of extension tubes to aerosol cans. The most recent developments are the compact, in-line vertical tube taper and the container Orienter-Labeler for application of pressure sensitive spot labels to any desired location. The horizontal tube taper is recognized as the industry standard and has been operating in many aerosol filling plants since 1978.

Beacon also has designed and manufactures aerosol can crushers and product recovery systems, which include EVAC I (500 cph), EVAC II (2500 cph) and EVAC III (up to 7000 cph). These heavy duty aerosol can crushers and contain more than 95% of the can contents for maximum safety. In many instances, the crushed can and the product may be recycled or the gases reliquefied and used as an alternative fuel source.

Confectionery machinery for the production of hard candy, taffy and caramel includes batch rollers, precision diameter rope sizers, stick candy “Stickmasters”, candy cane formers, the mint puff “Puffmaster” and cooling systems.

At the request of Georgia Tech, Beacon designed a light weight attachment for apparel spreading machines, called the quarter or crease turner. This unit is used inside tubular fabrics for accurate seam positioning and allows up to 20” of infinite adjustability.

Beacon’s highly trained and experienced staff provides prompt service and shipment of parts and constantly updates and improves its machines to maintain customer satisfaction.
